Covering many of Indiana’s most interesting places and features—including the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Colts, and activities such as ice fishing—this book is a celebrations of the Hoosier State.

Good Night Indiana is a board book for children, ages two to three years old. It is full of cute and colorful pictures that makes it fun for little ones to look at and flip through. It’s a great memorabilia piece to have for those who collect Indiana related items.

When it comes to written content, I personally feel the book is lacking quality. I’ll admit, it is a book for young children, so naturally, it’s a little shorter. That’s not what I mean by “lacking quality”. To me, the word choice seems too uniform, lacking creativity. I believe the author could have done a better job coming up with descriptive words to go with each of the different places depicted by the book. I feel he could have also done a better job tying in the location of each place.

The picture quality in Good Night Indiana is this books saving grace. The pictures are colorful and cute and do a great job depicting the many places outlined in the book. They make the book interesting enough for children to flip through and observe. I can attest that my youngest child, 22 months, was able to put the pictures together with real life experiences with some of the places in the book, like the Indianapolis Zoo and the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Honestly, had it not been for the cute pictures, I probably wouldn’t have purchased this book. It does, however, make a great addition to the families Indiana collectibles.
